VAISHALI DUMADA

Ms. Vaishali belongs to a very poor family from the Palghar district in Maharashtra. Her father earned a minimal amount working as a daily wage worker and they would struggle to make ends meet. She was very fond of tailoring and always dreamed of working as a fashion designer to support her family but was not able to pursue her dream due to her family's poor financial condition. When she heard about KMCT during one of our mobilization campaigns in her village, she immediately decided to enroll in the three-month Fashion Designing Course by KMCT.

Determined to make her dream come true, she used to walk 5-6 km on daily basis to attend the training as she could not afford to pay for her travel. After completing the course, she decided to start her own business but was left heartbroken as she realized that she did not have enough money to purchase a sewing machine.

KMCT stepped in again and helped her apply for a loan of Rs. 30,000/- (Rs. Thirty Thousand only) under the Chief Minister Employment Generation Program. She was finally able to purchase the machine and start her own business. Ms. Vaishali now earns a minimum of Rs. 4000/- per month and can take care of her family.

SANKET GHARAT

After completing his 12th, Mr. Sanket Gharat was unable to find any employment and had a lot of free time on his hands and would spend this time with his friends in the village. His sister told him about KMCT and motivated him to join the program so that he could spend his time more productively.

When he approached KMCT, he told us that he wanted to learn how to repair ACs. We sent him to a training center where he completed a comprehensive 6-month course on AC repair. After he completed the course, we helped him get a job that paid him Rs. 15,000/- per month and he was satisfied with that.

In the year 2020, the economic condition of the world deteriorated because of COVID and many people lost their jobs including Sanket. Unsure of what to do next, he approached KMCT for guidance. He received counseling and then completed some training modules on Entrepreneurship Development conducted by us.

Post completion of the training, KMCT helped him start his business at Kandivali where he was able to leverage his existing network of contacts that he accrued during his 3 years of work experience. He took extreme precautions while restarting his business during COVID and is now earning Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. He has even been able to provide employment to 4 of his friends.

MAHENDRA GUPTA

Mr. Mahendra Gupta came from a very poor family and had taken up a job in an industry in Nalasopara. Here, he was promised a mere Rs. 50/- for 12 hours of hard labor and ended up being paid even lesser. Disheartened, he started looking for alternative employment opportunities.

During this time, he met one of his friends who had started his own two-wheeler showroom. His friend encouraged him to undergo some training in repairing two-wheelers so that they could work together.

After enquiring around for a while, Mahendra found out about KMCT and immediately decided to join the KMCT course. He had a clear goal in mind and was one of the sincerest candidates in the course.

After completing KMCT’s course, he started his own workshop and is now, he is earning Rs. 35,000/- per month. He had has even hired 4 local youths in his workshop. He considers KMCT a godsend and has even hung up his KMCT Training certificate on the wall, next to a picture of God.
